TENS Unit to Treat Tendonitis

Specifically in my elbow.

When I've had this before I was treated by a gym physio who used this prior to massaging all the forearm muscles as well as bi's and tri's.

Now obviously I can't self massage to the extent that the physio did but I am toying with the idea of getting a TENS to try and ease things.

Anybody else had experience of using a TENS machine for this ?

Don't know too much about TENS.

I would do self-massage on the forearm as well as strengthening the wrist and finger extensors. How much is a TENS unit anyway?

TENS unit about £30 on ebay for what i think is a half decent one.

Any particular exercises for wrist / finger extensors ?

Do you mean stuff like this, from memory plate pinching irritates my elbow.

Finger extensors - stuff like putting elastic band around your fingers and pushing out against it ?

Yep, that kind of thing - not so much the traditional grip work but opening the fingers, wrist extensions etc.

Your not convinced of it's effectiveness to ease elbow tendonitis or have you just not been consistent enough with it ?
