Cream in your protein shake

Post  Sports-Select.co.uk on Wed 16 Apr 2008 - 13:21

I was mixing a shake which I normally use 80% water 20% milk for, but in the fridge was a jug of cream. I thought to myself Atkins allows cream but not milk (im not on atkins but am low carbing it)...would my shake be better with 80% water 20% cream?

I couldn't be bothered to think about this too hard myself, so thought I'd post it up for a bit of debate.

LOL, now that is a classic Alex answere. However my thinking was, cream has a lower insulin effect than milk.

Cream is more calories though yes? And what about the fats in cream, are they good or bad fats? I haven't had cream in years so I wouldn't know the answers to those, which is quite unhelpful really sorry lol Laughing

It's a classic answer of anyone that's not just making shit up as they go along!

For what it's worth, Charles Poliquin was drinking cups of cream with his breakfast last weekend apparently.

It depends on your Neutral ....metabolic type too Very Happy

Calories per food isn't an issue as long as I factor everything into my daily total.

Thea fats are naturaly occuring so no biggy. (no trans/hydrogenated fats)

Low in lactose.

The only GI, II or GL info I can gather is for Ice cream at that scores lowish even with all the sugar in it so that bodes well for plain cream.

So cream and water it is from now on.
