PWO carbs

Post  Lovegrove on Wed 23 Sep 2009 - 8:18

When working to lose body fat, is it ok to cut PWO carbs (I use dextrose) to reduce calories and encourage bodt fat loss, or will this impact upon recovery?

ANy advice would be much appreciated!

I'm sure Alex will be along with a technical answer, but personally i would rather load all my carbs around training and be low carb/carb free for the rest of the day.

My roiugh guide is bodyweight in kilos x 1 grams carbs pwo when not@dieting.
, and x 0.5 when dieting. I have been known to have no carbs and just eat normally though, but wouldn't risk this in a hard training phase

Ok thank you for the advice.

So for example with a 100kg man;
Not dieting; 100g carbs PWO
Dieting; 50g carbs PWO

Is that right or have I misinterpretted the formula?

That's the one - although maybe taking lean body mass (i.e. take away fat mass) might be a better idea to lower the calories/carbs even more.
